Take A Seat

The living room in our home has to work very hard since it’s the centre for most activities – from movie watching and dinner eating to friend hosting and lazy Sunday chilling. Until fairly recently it was less than cosy and felt sparse, with magnolia walls and mismatched wood. But now thanks to a few days of painting and furniture rejig it is feeling so much more peaceful and welcoming. You may remember a while back I posted my living room update dreams, in collaboration with the super folks over at Habitat. Well, I’m delighted now to share those very lovely armchairs in situ, styled up a little with a few of my favorite things.

I’ve styled up the Momo armchairs in the bay window area of our sitting room, with the handy Buck storage stool between them. Since it was such a sunny day all the space needed was some cheerful blooms, a magazine and some soft furnishings (including the cozy Armure cushion) to complete the look. I so love the other cushions, too. The sweet little moon cushion is by Oh No Rachio and my lovely friend made the other star print cushion for me, using fabric from M is for Make. (Can you tell I’m a bit of a space nerd?)

Having previously had much bigger, heavier chairs in the room I’m delighted with how the new armchairs have made our living room feel less cluttered and calmer. Isn’t it amazing at how switching up furniture can make such a difference?

Always a fan of grey, these charcoal grey beauties are perfect for our living room which is otherwise very bright, white and minimal. After I took these photos I was inspired by how lovely the pink tulips looked within the color scheme and so now I’ve switched up the cushions yet again using some Kauniste fabric I bought in Helsinki. Pink and grey is fast becoming my favorite color combination.
